Obituary for James Bryan Neal

James B. Neal passed away at his home on November 8, 2023 with his wife by his side. Jim’s passing comes after a year long battle with cancer. Jim led a life full of laughter and love; whether it be cracking the next witty joke with his children or preparing a delicious family dinner. In the moments Jim was not adoring his Subie, he was playing video games or deciding which NFL football team was his favorite of the week; usually anyone but the Cowboys. Jim grew up on the West Side of Cincinnati, son of the late James F. Neal and Helen M. Neal. Jim attended LaSalle High School and played Varsity Football. At 19 years old, Jim began his adult working life with Home City Ice later transitioning to the Casino industry. Jim worked for Hollywood Casino for 16+ years followed by a tenure at Belterra Park and Turfway Park Racing & Gaming. Jim is also proceeded in death by his stepdaughter Rachel K. Clapp, maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents and Uncle Steve Neal. Jim is survived by his wife Favor Neal; his daughter, Katheryn Neal and stepdaughters, Ashley Clapp (AJ Love), Adrianna Ciresi (Cameron Steele), and Morgan Clapp (Patrick Lyman). Jim leaves behind 7 grandchildren Sophia Love, Bri’ella Graves, Ariah Smith, Remington Steele, Oaklyn Love, Elizabeth Smith, and Colton Steele that he adored and enjoyed spoiling. Jim is also survived by several honorary sons, Brandon Roaden, Zachariah Smith, Lee Dyess, and Tyler Folke. Jim was loved by all that crossed his path, making his mark memorable. Visitation Monday, November 13th from 3pm-6pm at the Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 10385 New Haven Rd Harrison, Ohio 45030.
