Born to Gervase Kathman and Christine Kaelbli. She was the youngest of 5 children: Pauline, Jacqueline, Lucile and Edward. Geri attended St. Martins Grade School and Mother of Mercy High School. Upon graduation she worked at Procter & Gamble as a key punch operator. Geri married Donald Polking on 11 April 1964 and they had 3 children, Linda, Lisa and Mary Jo. In 1977 Donald passed and Geri became the sole caregiver of the girls, ages 11, 8, 6. Geri was a devoted mother and was deeply involved with the girls and their activities. Spending many hours supporting their participation in numerous sports in grade school, high school & college. Geri didn’t have much of a social life after Donald died. She had put her life on hold for her girls.

In 1980 Geri met Floyd Fisher at a fundraiser and both their lives were to change. Three months later they went on their first date. On 5 June 1981 they were married and life changed for both. Over the following years, Geri became involved in many groups. Working at church, volunteering with different social groups and charities. For her spare time activities she liked to bowl, play bunco, dominos, and worked for H & R BLOCK as a tax consultant. She also took evening classes at Cincinnati State. She hadn’t traveled much, but occasionally went to Florida to visit her sister. In those years with Floyd she developed a love for traveling and has been to 41 states, Canada, Ireland, Germany. Her favorites were River Boat Cruises, and National Parks.

Geri was deeply involved with Beta Sigma Phi, an International Women's Friendship Sorority. Over the years she held every office in the Beta Theta Master chapter. Throughout her life, Geri was a dedicated Mother and was proud of her daughter's achievements, and the grandchildren that she loved so dearly. Geri gave of herself and never looked for recognition, she will be greatly missed by all.
