Obituary for Gerald Lewis Herrmann

Herrmann, Gerald Lewis. Beloved husband for 61 years of the late Suzanne (nee Waltz) Hermann. Dear father of Lorie (Rick) Krieger and Thomas G. Herrmann. Loving grandfather of Conrad (Sara) Krieger, Hope (Dominic) Krieger-Mileti, and Hannah (Zak) Krieger-Neal. Caring brother to the late Robert G. Herrmann.

Gerry passed away on November 24, 2022 at the age of 88. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, he grew up in Palatine, Illinois. He graduated from DePauw University in 1956 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. During college, he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity, R.O.T.C., and won fist place running track at a state championship. After graduating from college, he joined the Air Force as a second lieutenant where he was stationed in Sun Valley, Idaho. In 1965, he was honorably discharged from the reserves with the rank of Captain. He opened his own business selling addressing equipment which later expanded to include a printing and mailing company. He was an active member of the Cheviot-Westwood Kiwanis for many years, serving as the president during which time he attended an international Kiwanis convention in Taiwan. Throughout his life he actively enjoyed downhill and water skiing, sailing--captaining his sailboat in races in Green Lake, Wisconsin, flying small private aircraft, running, and traveling around the country in a motor home. During his retirement, he continued to thoroughly enjoy life with his wife, Sue, traveling, biking and purchasing a sailboat that he sailed on Lake Erie.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 7th from 2pm until time of Funeral Service at 3pm at Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 3155 Harrison Ave Cincinnati, OH 45211.
