Obituary for James W. Johns

James "Jim" Johns, beloved husband of 68 years to Joan Johns (nee Brendel). Loving father of Daniel (Tina) Johns, Lisa (Don) Everett, Patricia Johns (Julie Durbin), Constance (Tom) DiNuoscio, and the late Richard Johns. Cherished grandfather of Ryan (Caitlin) Johns and Madison (Collin) Trammel. Preceded in death by his parents, George and Ida Johns (nee Schum) and his uncle Leo Schum. Passed October 20, 2022 at the age of 91. Jim was a proud graduate of Roger Bacon High School. He earned a Master's degree in Civil Engineering and was a member of Phi Kappa Theta at the University of Cincinnati. Jim was an extremely proud 36-year employee for the City of Cincinnati. He was the city’s structural engineer responsible for many infrastructure projects during his tenure. After he retired, he worked for the Millcreek Conservacy District as a chief engineer. He thoroughly enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participate in school, religious, and sport activities. He was a proud Army veteran who served in the Korean war and was stationed in Germany. He will be eternally missed by his many loved ones. Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 25th at 9:30am until time of prayers at 10:20am (mass at 10:30) at St. Aloysius Church, 4366 Bridgetown Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45211.
