Louis J. Amend Jr. "Buck" passed away on August 5th at the age of 80, suddenly in his home with his wife by his side. He was born March 16th, 1942 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon, on September 7th, 1963. He retired from The Cincinnati Enquirer after 46 years of working his way from apprenticeship to management. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sharon Amend (née Fassnacht); his children, Holly (Doug) Heinrich and Christian Amend; his 7 grandchildren, Shelby (Brenton) Kathman, Kyle (Chrisi) Heinrich, Tyler Amend, Marcus Heinrich, Reilly Heinrich, Andrew Amend, Jordan Amend and the late Miranda Heinrich; his great grandchild, Leonardo Kathman; his siblings, Jeanette (David) Koucky, James (Sandy) Amend, Marilynn (James) Holder, Don (Vicki) Amend; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Louise Amend. Visitation Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 9:30 A.M. until time of funeral mass at 10:30 A.M. at Our Lady Lourdes Church, 2832 Rosebud Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45238. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Old Cemetery.
