Obituary for James "Oke" Francis O'Connor, Jr.
James Francis O'Connor, Jr. "Oke," age 93, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2021. Beloved husband for 69 years of the late Mary Jo O'Connor (nee Wachsmuth). Loving father of James (Donna), Michael (Diana), Peggy Knight and Timothy (Lisa) O'Connor. Dear grandfather of Jimmy, Kenneth, Daniel, Jeremy, Christine and Craig and great-grandfather and uncle to many. He was proceeded in death by his siblings Mary Jane O'Connor and Roger O'Connor.
James was an active member of the Cheviot senior citizens community, the Cheviot Fire Association, Cheviot Goldenairs, the Telephone Pioneers and the Knights of Columbus. He was a graduate of Western Hills High School in 1946.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 27 from 9AM-10AM at Neidhard-Minges Funeral home, Westwood (3155 Harrison Ave., 45211). Mass of Christian to follow at 10:30AM at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Church (4366 Bridgetown Rd., 45211). Face masks and social distancing is required at the church. Burial to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery (W 8th & Seton).Memorial donations may be made to St, Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
