Sister of the late Ruth Frazee and Ernest Busam Jr., Sister in law of the late Lou Ann Schulte. Died Jan. 21, 2020 Age 94. Hazel attended Hughes High School until age 16 when family and WWII demanded her attention. She moved to Washington D.C. and worked for the government in the Department of Transportation and as an auxiliary of WAC. After the war Hazel worked for many local companies as a Secretary. At age 14, she and her family were rescued from the devastating 1937 flood by her cousin Armand Busam who rowed the family to safety from their second floor bedroom window. She married John Tobergte, a policeman, and supported and cared for him during his career and with her son Jim during his long illness. Hazel was an avid swimmer, hiker and reader, especially detective novels and later of Thomas Merton. She was humble and self reliant and always quick to put others before herself.
