Obituary for Roberta Ann "Bobbi" Ackerman (Knepfle)
Ackerman, Roberta (nee Knepfle) Beloved wife for 54 years of Howard A. Ackerman. Loving mother of Mindy (late Ken) Placke and Tracey (Ken) McCall. Dear grandmother of Leah & Quin McCall. Sister of Rita Lee Knepfle, Pattie (Ray) Spicher and Ray (Vicki) Knepfle. Died Saturday, May 18, 2019. Age 75 years.
She will be remembered most for her selfless giving to others, and the way she made any occasion feel special. Bobbi, as most friends called her, worked for forty-two years as the rectory manager at St. Catharine’s church. In her time at the rectory, she worked for four pastors, and eight different associate pastors. She enjoyed doing the flowers at church for all religious holidays, serving as a wedding coordinator, and planning numerous themed parties for the school and parish. She even formed a connection to many of the students at the parish school, and later it would be a special fifth grade class that carried her through her cancer treatments. Her children and grandchildren will remember her most for making them feel so loved through her special notes and cards of support and encouragement. If one word could describe her best it would be JOY: joy in loving, joy in giving, joy in family, and most of all joy in living!
Family will receive friends on Saturday June 1st from 9:30-10:30am in the Parish Meeting Room at St. Catharine School (use side entrance near handicap ramp). Funeral Mass to follow 10:30am at St. Catharine of Siena Church, 2848 Fischer Pl., Westwood (45211). Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to St. Catharine School FRESH Fund or to Mercy McAuley High School, 6000 Oakwood Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45224
