First memories of Marian, who will always be "Mrs. Souders" to me were from our old neighborhood on Lehman Rd. Kathy was My best friend there. I remember calling her out to play and Mrs. Souders coming to the door. One time sh had just had a baby, number three I think, maybe four. Patty, Kathy's younger sister, would often be with us when we played. Kathy and I were maybe 4 tears old. One day I inappropriately told Patty to be quiet, and when she wouln't, smacked her on the arm. Patty started screaming, I ran and hid, Mrs. Souders came out and told Kathy that "if someone hits your little sister, you hit them back."She if course forgave me later, and I learned a good lesson. Not an easy job raising many children, but Mrs. Souders was up to the challenge.
Years later, after two moves by both of our families, we ended up in the same school at Our Lady of Victory in Delhi. Movung in 7th grade isn't east, and Mrs. Souders made sure I got to meet Kathy's friends, we were in the same grade but different teachers. That was greatly appreciated of her, she thought of others.
Agaun years later, she and Nr. Souders came to my parents' 60th anniversary, and after my mom was gone, she took care of my dad's animals when he visited my husband Jim and me in Maine. It seemed like she was always there to help.

I know she will be greatly missed, and I will always remember her with gratitude and love.

Wonderful memories of a wonderful person. May God comfort you all as she goes home to God.
With love, Donna Koch Carlton.

When a great mother has passed, you can only think of all the wonderful things of which you were a recipient. Marian was a most kind and giving person - a true saint. Really.
