Obituary for Betty L. Driscoll

Driscoll, Betty L. (nee Fessenden), beloved wife for 63 years of the late Patrick H. Driscoll. Loving mother of Leanne (Kevin) Rogus, Diane Driscoll, Marianne (Doug) King & Julianne (Patrick) Graf. Devoted grandmother of Kieran & Kendall King and Paige Graf. Dear sister of Robert Fessenden. Betty passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 age of 86 years. Visitation Friday, February 8 from 4pm to 6pm at the Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 3155 Harrison Ave. (Westwood). Funeral Mass Saturday, Feb 9, 10am at St. James Church (White Oak). Burial church cemetery. Following the internment services, everyone is welcome to celebrate Betty's life at Nathanael Greene Lodge 6394 Wesselman Rd. Cincinnati, Ohio 45248. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O. Box 633597 Cincinnati, Ohio 45263-3597.
Condolences may be sent to daughter Marianne King 165 Cranbrooke Dr. Coraopolis PA 15108, Betty grew up in the heart of Cincinnati in Norwood. Her family owned a dairy - Moormeier Dairy. They ran a Dairy Bar. This is where Betty and Pat eventually met. Growing up Betty loved to walk in the woods, play softball and dance. This is why she became a majorette in high school at Withrow High School. That was her love. Betty attended the University of Cincinnati. She joined the Chi Omega Sorority. She received her BA in Education and taught kindergarten for a short time. She always had a passion for learning. Once Betty and Pat married, she became a mother of 3 girls fairly quickly. Each being born 1 ½ years apart. They were blessed with one more girl 8 years after that. Having a child at 40 was not the norm back then. Betty was a dedicated mother and housemaker. Family dinners were a must. Lunches ready for school, homework down, clothes attended too. She always made sure she volunteered at her children’s schools and always had her girls learning. Betty drove hundreds of miles to her children’s activities. She always made sure her children had an appropriate birthday party or celebration. When dad and mom retired, they spent their winters in Venice, Florida. It was well deserved. They loved the beach and were very active in church and social activities. Betty loved to socialize.
Betty always had a silly sense of humor and was a great bargain hunter. Growing up in the depression always kept Betty and Pat judicious with finances. She loved flowers, especially roses and carnations.
Betty battled with dementia the later years in life and passed to our Almighty for age related complications.
