Obituary for Paul J. Lannan

Paul J Lannan a WWII Army veteran passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 6th 2018 at 10:30 PM after a long and fruitful life, he was surrounded by family and went gracefully into heaven. Paul was born into a large farming family, one of 14 children. This taught him the value of hard work, selflessness and of family. He lived through the great depression and WWII. As the family grew and scattered out, he continued to stay close. Paul loved to spend time with his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he loved spending time on the lake and generally anything to do with the outdoors. He was loved by all, he wasn’t perfect, and he didn’t always get things right, but he certainly knew how to live. He loved deeply, worked hard and played harder as he danced with Shirley Temple and loved a girl named Dimple. He was preceded in death by his wife Dimple Rose (nee Underhill) Lannan and his son Mark Lannan, his grandson Shawn Lannan, his parents, Joseph J. and Mary L. (nee Leona) Lannan; sisters, Catherine Gilley, Mary Arney, Rose Butler-Arney and Carolyn Clements; brothers, William (Bill), Donald, Thomas, Daniel and James Lannan. Surviving siblings, Wilma (Bill) Sinnott; his brothers, Clifford, John (Mary Jo) and Robert (Feonia) Lannan. Sons, Richard (Becky), Stephen, Mark (deceased) and Lawrence (Kelly) Lannan. Grandchildren, Danny, Robert, Nick, Chris, & Patrick Lannan. Great-grandchildren, Danny; Daniel, Brittney, Noah Robert; Tyler, Dylan, Cali, Trenton, Riley, Kaylynn, Ava Nick; Kathleen, Brandon, Hailey, Jackson. Visitation Friday, November 16 from 6 to 8pm at the Neidhard-Minges Funeral Home, 3155 Harrison Ave. Cincinnati, Ohio 45211 where funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 17th at 10:30am. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph New Cemetery.
