Obituary for Henry J. Herzog

Henry Joseph Herzog, age 93, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2018, with loving family by his side. Affectionately known as Hank, he will always be remembered for his bright blue eyes and deep love of his family and friends.

Henry was born on June 14, 1925, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Joseph and Apolonia Herzog and was the second of three children. At the age of 18, he joined the United States Navy and proudly served his Country during World War II in Italy, North Africa and Shanghai. After returning from the war, he started a business building homes with his brother, Lou and later married his beloved wife of 64 years, Mary Lou (nee Bader). Together they raised two beautiful children. An avid sailor, Henry owned several boats throughout his life and loved being on the water.

He was predeceased by his dearly loved wife, Mary Lou (nee Bader) and his two siblings Dorothy and Lou.  Surviving are his loving daughters, Shirley and Mary Jo (Doug Duncil); his adored granddaughter Christine (Maurice Glover); and great-granddaughter Madison. He was a dear uncle to many and will be missed by all. 

Funeral arrangements are provided by Neidhard Minges Funeral Home and services will be private.
