Condolence From: Mary Clark
Condolence: I met Linda about 12 years ago at the IRS. I didn't know her well until she came to our team to work a couple of years later. Linda was so proud of her grandsons. She talked about them always. Recently, one of them was in a pretty bad car accident and she was trying to feel better so she could go see him. She didn't want to give him her germs, she said. Linda also told us of the medical crisis Andy went through a year or so ago. She never left his side. Andy was such a good husband and friend to her, she would say. Linda was an avid scrap booker. And she loved to read. We often exchanged books to read. She was a faster reader than I. Finally, I just want to say that Linda was one of my few close friends I had here at work. We were only 2 years apart in age and could relate to things in ways others couldn't. It's that generation thing I guess. Linda was a kind soul, had a heart of gold, was patient, would help you in any way she could. When I went through a second round of cancer earlier this year, she asked Andy to include me in his men's prayer group's prayer requests. And he did, along with others. And I pulled through for a second time. I am going to miss Linda a lot. I was in Nashville, IN on Monday and I hadn't heard of Linda's passing yet. My husband and I saw a linen towel embroidered with the saying, "My husband said I can buy all the scrap booking stuff I want, as long as I hide it." I laughed so hard because that is what we used to say about our various craft projects and our husbands. Then when we were going to our car to leave, we passed a scrap booking store and shop. I told my husband I'd have to remember this place and tell Linda about it on Tuesday when we went back to work. But just then a sad feeling came over me like I wasn't going to be able to tell Linda about this. I shook it off and said I was being silly to myself. Then when I got to work yesterday, my lead was waiting for me in the parking lot and came over to my car to let me know about Linda. Needless to say, I cried, shook my head in disbelief, and wondered why. Now I have the honor and am going to prepare Linda's personal belongings that are here at work for Andy to pick up and take home. Linda, I truly miss you and your giggle. I'll never forget you and will always think about you when I see a Debbie McComber book or the book "The Christmas Shoes" by that author you loved and collected his stories. Thank you for your words of encouragement and support. Now go Linda, rest with the angels, and I know that we'll meet again someday. God Bless You, my friend. Mary
