Uncle Will will always have a special place in my heart. I got to know him better after our family moved to Minnesota. In time I found my future wife, Terry, and I wanted her to meet my family in Cincinnati. So, one spring we set off to meet them. We stayed with Uncle Vin in Toledo and then with Uncle Will. I remember playing pool and laughing at Uncle Will all the time. He was such a great guy once you got past his tough guy act. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone. During our visit Uncle Will had caused a bit of fiction with Aunt Jewel. Now, I’m 19 years old and he is asking me what he should do. We decided that flowers might help the cause, so Uncle Will brought flowers home to his wife. I thought Aunt Jewel was going to pass out. All ended well! The last time I saw him was at Scott’s place where we spent several hours walking the property, checking out his guns, and just talking about life. I hold on to those memories; and, always will.
